- Please use only the art paper we have provided as it has space on the bottom for the parent order form to be taped on. This way we can provide you with a contact sheet displaying a thumbnail of each child’s art, their name, class and order. If you run out of paper we will gladly send you more.
- Please extend the art to cover the entire piece of art paper.
- If you choose to write the children’s names on the front of the art (many parents expect this), please make sure they are written at least 10mm from the edge of the paper. In order to tidy the edges of the art we delete a few mm when we scan. Names too close to the edge may therefore be lost if written too close to the edge. Likewise, avoid narrow border designs. This is especially important for the Greeting Cards - to ensure a neat finish, we copy the artwork slightly bigger than the frame opening.
- As the art for the cards is reduced to fit the frame, details like the child's name are also reduced. We recommend therefore, that the names on card art be written bigger than usual.
- If using collage techniques, make sure it is well secured, flat and no thicker than 4 mm.
- If gluing photos onto the art paper, please use a glue stick or double-sided tape. Wet glue can buckle the photos which are then difficult to copy.
- Most art media are OK as the art will be laser copied. Wax Crayons, oil pastels, dyes, paint, felt pens and printing inks are fine to use.
- Avoid lead pencil sketches and drawings using light, coloured pencils as they are difficult to copy. Strong colours copy best.
- Avoid glitter as it gets all over the other children's artwork.
- Fluorescent colours are not nearly as bright when laser copied.
- Please trim the parent order forms and tape securely onto the front of each piece of art and photo.
Most importantly enjoy yourselves !!!
